Micro Dome does not contain lead. Lead-based paint was commonly used in homes built before 1960. Paint produced between 1960 and 1990 may also contain small amounts of lead, both inside and outside the house. However, paint made after 1992 for indoor use in Canada or the United States is mostly lead-free.
Since 2010, paint in Canada with more than 0.009% lead must have a warning label, indicating it is unsafe in areas where children or pregnant women might be. When painting your home, ensure the interior paint is lead-free. Studies show that even small amounts of lead in the blood can harm the brain and behavior of young children.
Lead-based paint can be dangerous, but steps can be taken to reduce exposure. Damaging or disturbing lead paint, such as on doors, windows, stairs, and railings, can put you and your family at risk.
